listen to the eyebrows...

What a find! I stumbled upon these pics of David Hemmings and his CRAZY eyebrows by accident and then found a link to Waxidermy where they have an MP3 from Hemmings LP "happens"! Can anyone get me the full album! I'll put it beside my Richard Harris LPs!

I've got the full album. Hemmings is one of my favorite actors so I picked up the reissue from Dusty Grooves when it came out a few years ago. I think you can even get it from Amazon now.

Some of the songs are really funny and obviously they were not supposed to be, but they had me laughing out loud. My favorite tracks are After the Rain, Reason To Believe, Bell Birds and The Soldier Wind. The song Good King James makes me giggle the most. It's totally worth buying if you like Hemmings!

p.s. What the hell happens to peoples eyebrows as they get older? check out the Lee Marvin video on my blog and you'll see that his eyebrows have started to take on a life of their own. It's like, when guys get older their eyebrows start eating their faces! There's a horror movie in their somewhere.... or maybe they've just been trying out for the part of the "old guy with crazy looking attacking eyebrows" in a kung fu flick?

We held a private screening of a rare 35mm print of THE SURVIVOR two weeks ago for 60 people hence the Hemmings topic. If you ever get to Toronto, you are invited to our cinema cabal!

That sounds fun! I would love to visit Toronto. I've never seen THE SURVIVOR but obviously I NEED to.

We should exchange CDs or something. Send me a copy of a Richard Harris album and I can send you Hemmings "Happenings."

next chance to see THE SURVIVOR is at the Sitges Fantasy fest outside of Barcelona in October. The print belongs to Nacho Cerda, the director of THE ABANDONED and a 35mm collector. I think I have the Harris on mp3 on my hard drive. Let me dig it up over the next few days and I'll zip it over to you some how!

Cool! I can easily make you MP3s of the Hemmings tracks you need and email them to you.

I looked up THE SURVIVOR on IMDb and it looks great! I hope it gets a DVD release soon or I may have to fork over money for a VHS copy.

I have a Rick Wakeman lp titled, 'Journey To The Centre Of The Earth' that was recorded at The Royal Festival Hall in 1974 w/ the LSO and stuff with Hemmings narrating. Wakeman is wearing a cape. Let's have a Sticky Floors acid party and play it. Hawk is gonna shit!
